The Year of the Big Bash
From sold out stadiums to Dave Warners switch-hit six, the overwhelming success of the Big Bash League comes as no surprise. T20 cricket is alive and thriving in Australia and with the addition of KooGa's world leading apparel and designs into the mix, the summer of 2012/13 will most definitely be viewed as the summer of the big bash.
International cricketing stars are flocking to Australian shores to be a part of one of the most anticipated T20 leagues around the globe. Whether it's the 'hot handed' Dale Steyn heating things up with Brisbane, along with bowling partners Daniel Vettori and Kemar Roach or 'big hitting' Marlon Samuels bolstering the ranks of the Renegades, the BBL 02 is set to build from its inaugural season. The league has also attached the likes of Pakistani superstars Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi to the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder.
With a fresh new and exciting look for on-field, off-field and support gear, KooGa's designs are set to encompass all that is the BBL. Mick McKenna, boss of the BBL describes the competition as "movie length cricket, loaded with pyrotechnics, featuring eight city based teams". KooGa's Managing Director Tyron Brant said, "We really wanted to design a kit that is on par with the excitement and exhilaration that is T20 cricket and we believe that we have done that".
Mr Brant goes on to describe the decision to get into cricket as a "really exciting phase" and one that was a "natural progression" for the Gold Coast based designer and manufacturer. "The KooGa family feels that our company aligns perfectly with the BBL as both of our organisations have grown in the same backyard and have exploded onto the globe stage", said Mr Brant.
However, the Australian home grown heroes are definitely not being over shadowed by the international players. The likes of Mike Hussy, Michael Clarke, David Warner, Mitchell Johnson and Shane Warne with the Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Hobart Hurricanes and the Adelaide Strikers are all anticipated having a massive contribution to their teams and the league.
"Cricket is about as Australian as it gets and we are proud to be working with the team at Cricket Australia", said Mr Brant. "We are eagerly waiting the start of the BBL 02 on December 7th".
T20 Big Bash League apparel and supporter gear is available online and in retailers from the 9th of November.
